Deep dive
The different elements of Yin Pulsing Energy Healing, how they are done, and the theory behind them.
What Yin Pulsing Energy Healing is
Yin Pulsing Energy Healing blends the nurturing Yin elements of the Pulsing rocking bodywork technique with Energy Healing. It is designed to help you get in touch with your body, notice areas of tension or stuck energy, and receive healing energy in a soothing and deeply relaxing way.
The Yin element
Yin is the receptive, nurturing principle. In a therapy context, it means working gently and sensitively with the body and energy system. The intention is to encourage deep relaxation, release of tension and restoration of balance, rather than to use a forceful or stimulating approach.
Yin-style work can feel comforting and safe, rather like being rocked as a child. At the simplest level, this can help interrupt the fight-or-flight anxiety loop that many people experience in everyday life.
The Pulsing element
Pulsing is a bodywork technique in which the body, and more specifically the skeleton, is gently rocked. The rocking may be done very gently or more actively depending on the practitioner and the client’s needs. In this therapy, the emphasis is almost entirely on the gentle Yin way.
The rocking provides a disarmingly gentle way to feel what is going on in the body. It may support the release of tensions connected to current life pressures or earlier experiences.
The theory behind emotional holding
The working theory is that when we do not want to feel a feeling during a difficult or traumatic situation, the feeling can become held in the body as tension. The original situation may have passed, but the body may still carry the stress response.
Pulsing is intended to help bring awareness to these areas of holding so that feelings can come back into consciousness and be released. Sometimes this may involve tears, words, memories or simply a physical softening. You are supported throughout, and the pace is led by what feels safe and appropriate for you.
The Energy Healing element
During the session, and especially if emotional release occurs, healing energy is channelled to support your body and mind. The idea is that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, but sometimes benefits from an energetic boost when life has become too much.
An energy healer can be thought of as a channel for universal energy: the Japanese tradition refers to this as Ki, as in Reiki, and Chinese traditions refer to Chi, as in Tai Chi.
How the elements are brought together
In practice, the session combines gentle physical rocking, intuitive attention to areas of tension or stuck energy, sensitive questioning where helpful, and Energy Healing throughout. You remain fully clothed, in control of the session, and able to ask for the treatment to stop at any time.
The aim is not to force a release, but to create the conditions in which your body and inner mind can safely notice, soften and let go at the pace that is right for you.
